Do Occupational Therapy Goals for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder Reflect Participation? A Mapping to the ICF - CY and ICF Core Sets Study.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is on the rise worldwide with an increasing acknowledgement that its continuum of care to enhance participation should be multidisciplinary. The International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) and its derivatives ICF - Children and Youth (ICF - CY) and ICF Core Sets have been increasingly used among health professionals to enhance communication and documentation of outcomes. This study aimed at investigating the comprehensiveness of the ICF - CY and ICF Core Sets with regard to occupational therapy goals and the extent of participation representation in these goals.

Sensory Modulation among Kindergarten Children in Jordan Based on Parents' Perceptions.

This study aimed to explore sensory processing abilities in kindergarten children based on parents' perceptions of their children's sensory functioning. Employing a non-probability sampling technique, parents of 957 typical kindergarteners (52% males, 48% females) aged between four and six years in Amman-Jordan were surveyed Arabic-Short Sensory Profile (A-SSP). Results showed that 37% and 24% of children exhibited definite difference and probable difference, respectively.

Laparoscopic guided minilaparotomy: a modified technique for management of benign large ovarian cysts.

Background: The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficiency and safety of a novel technique to treat large benign ovarian cysts combining benefits of laparoscopic management along with mini-laparotomy without affection of the ovarian reserve.

Methods: The study included 112 women with large benign ovarian cyst candidate for ovarian cystectomy. The technique started with laparoscopy followed by guided cyst aspiration followed by exteriorization of the ovary through minilaprotomy and completion of cystectomy through microsurgical technique.

Determinants of functional mobility in children with cerebral palsy in three different environments: A registry-based study.

Background: Functional mobility in children with cerebral palsy (CP) varies widely and is affected by many factors related to the child and environment. Understanding this variability in child's natural environments: home, school, and community; and its determinants are important for effective child management.

Methods: This cross-sectional study aims to investigate the functional mobility of children with CP within home, school, and community, and explore its determinants.
