Objective: To evaluate the toxic effects of the agent Relatox on mature outbred rats and mice in an acute experiment in comparison with the registered analogue Dysport.
Material And Methods: Based on the aim of experiment, the acute toxic effects of Relatox and Dysport were assessed on two animal species: rats and mice at intraperitoneal and intramuscular administration at dose levels that made it possible to calculate the toxicological parameter values (initially 10-150 U/kg with subsequent usage of additional doses 20 U/kg to 300 U/kg depending on the agent and route of administration). The LD values and other acute toxic parameters were calculated using probit analysis.
This article presents the results of a comprehensive toxicity assessment of brazzein and monellin, yeast-produced recombinant sweet-tasting proteins. Excessive sugar consumption is one of the leading dietary and nutritional problems in the world, resulting in health complications such as obesity, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease. Although artificial small-molecule sweeteners widely replace sugar in food, their safety and long-term health effects remain debatable.

The acute oral, cutaneous, and inhalation toxicity of aversectin C was studied on white unbred rats and mice. The compound was less toxic for rats than for mice, the LD50 for oral administration being 90 and 33 mg/kg, respectively. Aversectin C exhibited a maximum acute toxicity upon the inhalation in rats (LD50 = 40 mg/kg), while a minimum toxicity level was observed for the cutaneous application in rats (1700 mg/kg).
