Seeds of four native species of trees and shrubs (Larrea cuneifolia, Bulnesia retama, Plectrocarpa tetracantha and Prosopis flexuosa) were exposed to soil contaminated with As, Cu, Cd, and Zn from an abandoned gold mine to identify adaptation strategies. Several physiological, morpho-anatomical, and biochemical parameters were determined. The seed germination of L.

The Mayo Adhesive Probability (MAP) score is a radiographic scoring system that predicts the presence of adherent perinephric fat (APF) during partial nephrectomies (PNs). The purpose of this systematic review is to summarize the current literature on the application of the MAP score for predicting intraoperative difficulties related to APF and complications in laparoscopic PNs. Three databases, PubMed, Scopus and Cochrane, were screened, from inception to 29 October 2023, taking into consideration the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) Guidelines.

Article Synopsis
  • Two randomized trials have established that triplet therapy (androgen deprivation therapy, ARPI, and docetaxel) provides better survival rates compared to doublet therapy (ADT and docetaxel) for patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer.
  • A real-world analysis involving 97 mHSPC patients from various Austrian centers was conducted, tracking treatment responses and clinical parameters, while certain guideline-based treatments were underutilized in a significant percentage of the patients.
  • Findings showed that patients who started ARPI after chemotherapy had better treatment responses, while 61.9% experienced adverse events, yet all patients had a notable decline in PSA levels, indicating treatment effectiveness.

The current study aims to evaluate whether prophylactic anticoagulation using argatroban or an increased dose of unfractionated heparin (UFH) is effective in achieving the targeted activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) of more than 45 s in critically ill heparin-resistant (HR) patients. Patients were randomized either to continue receiving an increased dose of UFH, or to be treated with argatroban. The endpoints were defined as achieving an aPTT target of more than 45 s at 7 h and 24 h.

Aim: To assess the ability of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) measurements obtained by MRI to predict disease-specific survival (DSS) in patients with bladder cancer and compare it with established clinico-pathological prognostic factors.

Material And Methods: The ethical review board approved this cross-sectional study. Patients with suspected bladder cancer receiving diagnostic 3 T diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of the bladder before transurethral resection of the bladder (TUR-B) or radical cystectomy were evaluated prospectively.
