Introduction: Proton beam therapy (PBT) may reduce the number of adverse events in treatment of patients with pediatric cancer. However, it is difficult to evaluate whether the actual therapeutic effect is truly equivalent to that of photon radiotherapy. To compare photon radiotherapy and PBT, a meta-analysis and systematic review were performed.

Composition analysis of β-(In Ga )O thin films coherently grown on (010) β-GaO via mist CVD.

This study investigates the compositional analysis and growth of β-(In Ga )O thin films on (010) β-GaO substrates using mist chemical vapor deposition (CVD), including the effects of the growth temperature. We investigated the correlation between In composition and -axis length in coherently grown films, vital for developing high-electron-mobility transistors and other devices based on β-(In Ga )O. Analytical techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), reciprocal space mapping, and atomic force microscopy, were employed to evaluate crystal structure, strain relaxation, and surface morphology.

The Zebrafish Cerebellar Neural Circuits Are Involved in Orienting Behavior.

Deficits in social behavior are found in neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). Since abnormalities in cerebellar morphology and function are observed in ASD patients, the cerebellum is thought to play a role in social behavior. However, it remains unknown whether the cerebellum is involved in social behavior in other animals and how cerebellar circuits control social behavior.

Respiratory dysfunction in childhood cancer survivors: A single institution study.

Background: Recently, while the overall survival rate of childhood cancer has improved, research has highlighted a high incidence of comorbidities in childhood cancer survivors (CCSs). However, it is likely that many asymptomatic comorbidities go unnoticed. The purpose of the current study was to identify comorbidities unique to Japanese CCSs through comparisons with a general population that underwent comparable comprehensive medical checkups.

Effect of particle size on gastric emptying of enteric-coated granules in fasted beagle dogs: Relationship with interdigestive migrating motor complex.

This study investigates the particle size threshold at which the interdigestive migrating motor complex (IMMC) becomes active in gastric emptying for fasted beagle dogs. Enteric-coated granules containing cetirizine dihydrochloride (CET) were prepared in three particle sizes, 200, 660, and 1,200 µm (D). To mark IMMC timing and water movement from the stomach, enteric-coated aspirin tablets and acetaminophen solution were used.
