Objective: Abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture (rAAA) is still associated with high mortality. Recent studies have shown higher incidences in autumn and winter, and worse outcomes after rAAA treatment on weekends in some countries. This study aimed to analyse seasonal, weekday, and daytime fluctuations of the hospital incidence, treatment modalities, and outcomes of rAAA, based on the most recent nationwide German real world data.

The objective of this study was to describe the German health care landscape and to assess hospital utilization with respect to PAD and ALI.
Methods: Secondary data analysis of diagnosis-related group statistics data (2009-2018) provided by the German Federal Statistical Office.
The thermo-kinematic evolution of the eastern Aar Massif, Swiss Alps, was investigated using peak temperature data estimated from Raman spectroscopy of carbonaceous material and detailed field analyses. New and compiled temperature-time constraints along the deformed and exhumed basement-cover contact allow us to (i) establish the timing of metamorphism and deformation, (ii) track long-term horizontal and vertical orogenic movements and (iii) assess the influence of temperature and structural inheritance on the kinematic evolution. We present a new shear zone map, structural cross sections and a step-wise retrodeformation.

Objective: We conducted a quasi-experimental study incorporating a pre/post-intervention comparison to determine whether interdepartmental cooperation is effective at improving ED operations by combining microscopic and macroscopic concepts.
Methods: We performed an analysis of operational and financial data from a cooperative investment in imaging transport personnel between the emergency and radiology departments.
Invasive meningococcal disease surveillance in Europe combines isolate characterisation and epidemiological data to support public health intervention. A representative European Meningococcal Strain Collection (EMSC) of IMD isolates was obtained, and whole genome sequenced to characterise 799 EMSC isolates from the epidemiological year July 2011-June 2012. To establish a genome library (GL), the isolate information was deposited in the pubMLST.
