Geographic risk assessment of Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans invasion in Costa Rica as a means of informing emergence management and mitigation.

Remotely-sensed risk assessments of emerging, invasive pathogens are key to targeted surveillance and outbreak responses. The recent emergence and spread of the fungal pathogen, Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal), in Europe has negatively impacted multiple salamander species. Scholars and practitioners are increasingly concerned about the potential consequences of this lethal pathogen in the Americas, where salamander biodiversity is higher than anywhere else in the world.

Goal-Directed Learning in Cortical Organoids.

Experimental neuroscience techniques are advancing rapidly, with major recent developments in high-density electrophysiology and targeted electrical stimulation. In combination with these techniques, cortical organoids derived from pluripotent stem cells show great promise as models of brain development and function. Although sensory input is vital to neurodevelopment , few studies have explored the effect of meaningful input to neural cultures over time.

Assessment of TISA "Transcutaneous Implant Skin Anomalies" scale for cutaneous complications related to bone conduction hearing implants.

Objective: To describe the use of the TISA (Transcutaneous Implant Skin Anomalies) scale by members of the Colombian Association of Otology (ACON) in the evaluation of patients using bone conduction implants.

Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was conducted among the members of the Colombian Association of Otology. A voluntary survey was performed, where participants evaluated images of patients with transcutaneous bone conduction implants exhibiting different skin conditions.

Efficacy and Safety of Atezolizumab plus Bevacizumab versus Sorafenib in Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Main Trunk and/or Contralateral Portal Vein Invasion in IMbrave150.

Introduction: Atezolizumab plus bevacizumab significantly improved overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) versus sorafenib in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in IMbrave150. Efficacy and safety in patient subpopulations with Vp4 portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) and other high-risk prognostic factors are reported.

Methods: IMbrave150 was a global, randomized (2:1), open-label, phase 3 study in systemic treatment-naive patients with unresectable HCC; OS and PFS were co-primary endpoints.
