White light imaging (WLI) can sometimes miss early upper gastrointestinal (UGI) neoplasms, particularly minimal changes and flat lesions. Moreover, endoscopic diagnosis of UGI neoplasia is strongly influenced by the condition of the surrounding mucosa. Recently, image-enhanced endoscopy techniques have been developed and used in clinical practice; one of which is linked color imaging (LCI), which has an expanded color range for better recognition of slight differences in mucosal color and enables easy diagnosis and differentiation of noncancerous mucosa from carcinoma.

Introduction: The reason why maximum tongue pressure (MTP) decreases in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) remains unclear. Repeated measurements of isometric force and MTP may be useful for analyzing muscle wasting and force generation. The purpose of this pilot study was to evaluate the clinical characteristics and temporal transition of MTP in PD and normal control (NC) groups.

Article Synopsis
  • Metastatic spread of breast cancer to the gastrointestinal tract is rare, particularly for ductal carcinoma, with invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) being more prone to such occurrences, especially colonic metastasis.
  • Three cases of ILC with colonic metastasis are presented: an elderly patient receiving best supportive care who died 4 months post-diagnosis, another undergoing bypass surgery with a 1-year survival following complications, and a third patient with a delayed diagnosis who ultimately developed severe complications leading to an abscess.
  • Treatment strategies for these cases remain unclear, emphasizing the challenges in managing metastatic ILC.
