Arthritis is characterized by the progressive degeneration of articular cartilage, and the avascular nature of cartilage limits its capacity for self-repair. Stem cells are considered a promising treatment option due to their multipotent differentiation potential. The aim of this work was to investigate the structural changes in the hyaline articular cartilage of the knee joint in a model of arthritis induced by complete Freund's adjuvant, and to assess intra-articular injection of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) through both histological and immunohistochemical study.

The goal of this study was to determine the prevalence, the type and nature of traditional eye medicine use and practices related to self-medication for ophthalmic diseases in a rural Ethiopian population.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in six randomly selected primary health centers in rural Gurage Zone, Southern Ethiopia.
Purpose: Little is known regarding differences in childhood growth between somatic and heritable retinoblastoma (Rb) populations. We aimed to compare childhood growth parameters between somatic and heritable Rb cohorts at birth and at time of diagnosis with Rb.
Methods: A multinational, longitudinal cohort study was conducted with patients from 11 centers in 10 countries who presented with treatment naïve Rb from January to December 2019.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence, causes of ocular disorders and visual impairment among preterm children previously admitted to neonatal intensive care units in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Methods And Analysis: A prospective screening survey was conducted from February to June 2019 at the paediatric eye clinic of Menelik II Hospital. Children who were preterm at birth and who attended the eye clinic were included in the study.
Purpose: While progress was made towards the Vision 2020: The Right to Sight goals, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Zambia fell short of the recommended cataract surgical rate (CSR) on a national level. This study aimed to describe perceived barriers to cataract surgical uptake, factors related to surgeon surgical productivity, and surgical offerings in each of these countries.
