Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how effectively MRI can detect meniscal ramp lesions in the knee when positioned at 120° flexion versus near extension, noting that traditional MRI methods have low sensitivity for these types of injuries.* -
  • Researchers analyzed data from 154 patients undergoing ACL reconstruction and found that MRI in the flexed position had significantly higher sensitivity (91.9% vs. 69.4%) and specificity (94.6% vs. 77.2%) in identifying these lesions.* -
  • The findings suggest that performing MRI scans with the knee flexed improves diagnostic accuracy for ramp lesions, which is crucial for proper preoperative planning in ACL reconstructive surgery.*

A traceless site-selective conjugation method, "AJICAP-M", was developed for native antibodies at sites using Fc-affinity peptides, focusing on Lys248 or Lys288. It produces antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) with consistent drug-to-antibody ratios, enhanced stability, and simplified manufacturing. Comparative in vivo assessment demonstrated AJICAP-M's superior stability over traditional ADCs.

Error-correcting output coding (ECOC) is a method for constructing a multi-valued classifier using a combination of given binary classifiers. ECOC can estimate the correct category by other binary classifiers even if the output of some binary classifiers is incorrect based on the framework of the coding theory. The code word table representing the combination of these binary classifiers is important in ECOC.

Background: In animals, the health effects of ingested cacao proteins are unknown because the proteins are difficult to extract and purify from cacao beans.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop an extraction and purification method for cacao proteins and reveal the effect of ingestion of cacao proteins on defecation and intestinal microbiota in mice.

Methods: Three groups of mice were fed a control diet (AIN-93 G), a cacao lignin diet (AIN-93 G containing 1.

Introduction: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a standard procedure for treating cholescytitis, but severe inflammation may cause complications. Our previous study showed that the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values could predict difficult surgery. In the present study, relevance of ADC values in grading the severity of cholecystitis was pathologically investigated.
