Versatility of the Anterolateral Thigh Flap for Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.

Background: Abdominal wall reconstruction represents an ambitious and demanding challenge. This study aimed to illustrate the versatility of the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap in its different designs for the reconstruction of complex defects of the abdominal wall.

Methods: Charts of patients with complex abdominal wall defects who underwent a reconstruction with an ALT flap at the University Hospital of Zurich (2018-2020) were reviewed retrospectively.

[Insights into the practice of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery].

Minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) offer an alternative approach, aiming to be both safe and effective. Defined by their ab interno technique, which avoids creating a bleb, MIGS procedures seek to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) by enhancing the outflow pathways of aqueous humor. Techniques include stenting, incisions, and excisions of the trabecular meshwork, canaloplasty of Schlemm's canal, and drainage implants that enhance uveoscleral outflow to the subchoroidal space.

Evaluation of changes in calf management from 2012 to 2022 on Austrian dairy farms using an online questionnaire.

Calf management is important for the development, health, and welfare of the animals. In this follow-up study, we evaluated calf management practices on dairy farms in Austria using an online questionnaire in 2021 and 2022. We tested the hypothesis that farmers changed calf management on their farm within these 10 years.

Ring Opening of Diketene in Superacidic Media.

The reactions of diketene were investigated in the HF/MF and DF/MF (M = As or Sb) binary superacidic systems. Depending on the stoichiometric ratio of the Lewis acids and diketene, monoprotonated acetoacetyl fluoride and diprotonated acetoacetyl fluoride were obtained. The salts were characterized by low-temperature vibrational spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
