Frequency and factors associated with arterial remodeling in persons living with human immunodeficiency virus in Parakou in 2019.

Background: The side effects of antiretroviral drugs and the chronic inflammation induced by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection contribute to the development of atherosclerotic arterial remodeling in people living with HIV (PLWH).

Objectives: To determine the frequency and factors associated with arterial remodeling in PLWH treated at the university hospital of Parakou.

Methods: It was a cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytic study.

[Psycho-social experiences and quality of life of pacemaker patients in Cotonou].

Purpose Of The Study: The aim was to study the psycho-social experiences and quality of life (QOL) of pacemaker patients at the National Teaching Hospital Hubert Koutoukou Maga in Cotonou.

Patients And Method: A descriptive cross-sectional observational study was performed in 2017 and included over a three-month period all pacemaker patients admitted on an ambulatory basis. The psychological impact of wearing a pacemaker was studied, as well as the limits and constraints of daily life and the quality of life appreciated by the SF-36 score.

[Brain abscess revealing trilogy of Fallot in a child: about a case at the University Teaching Hospital of Parakou, Benin].

Brain abscesses can cause significant morbidity in patients with cyanogen heart disease. In countries with limited resources treatment, it is difficult and prognosis is guarded. Here we report a case of brain abscesses revealing a rare form of cyanogen heart disease, the trilogy of Fallot, in Parakou in the north of Benin.

Management of arterial hypertension in Cotonou city, Benin: general practitioners' knowledge, attitudes and practice.

Objective: We aimed to assess the management of hypertensive patients by general practitioners in Cotonou city.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study based on a multicentre survey conducted from 1 May to 31 July 2011. We recruited all consenting general practitioners who worked in public and private centres in Cotonou city.

Endocarditis tricuspid sub-aigue of post abortion: report of a case.

Tricuspid infective endocarditis is rare and represents five to 10% of all cases of infective endocarditis. It occurs predominantly in intravenous drug users, and patients with central venous catheters or intracardiac probes. We report on the case of subacute tricuspid infective endocarditis in a girl of 17 years.
