New agents are needed that selectively kill cancer cells without harming normal tissues. The TRAIL ligand and its receptors, DR5 and DR4, exhibit cancer-selective toxicity, but TRAIL analogs or agonistic antibodies targeting these receptors have not received FDA approval for cancer therapy. Small molecules for activating DR5 or DR4 independently of protein ligands may bypass some of the pharmacological limitations of these protein drugs.

Rationale: Information on the isotopic composition of nitrous oxide (N O) at natural abundance supports the identification of its source and sink processes. In recent years, a number of mass spectrometric and laser spectroscopic techniques have been developed and are increasingly used by the research community. Advances in this active research area, however, critically depend on the availability of suitable N O isotope Reference Materials (RMs).

Objective: This study introduces Mouse With Your Arm™ (MWYA) methodology which promotes sitting back in a chair, using the chair's armrest for forearm support at relaxed elbow height, matching surface and armrest height, and keeping the mouse on the surface edge.
Prior research indicates sleep deprivation negatively impacts selective attention, although less is known about the neural bases of these effects. The present study used event-related brain potentials (ERPs) to examine whether the effects of total sleep deprivation could be traced to the earliest stages of sensory processing influenced by selective attention. Participants were randomly assigned either to a regular sleep or 24-h total sleep deprivation condition.

Information on livestock characteristics and diet practices specific to the Benin cattle population were gathered from a variety of sources and used to estimate EF according to Tier 2 methodology of the 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. Most cattle from Benin are Bos taurus represented by Borgou, Somba and Lagune breeds.
