This real-life observational study from a diabetes centre in Western India reports the status of A1C (glycated hemoglobin), blood pressure, and cholesterol levels (ABC goals) currently achieved in type 2 diabetic patients. A cohort of 497 patients of type 2 diabetes first seen at the Diabetes Endocrine Nutrition Management and Research Centre from the years 2014 to 2017 were followed for a median [interquartile range (IQR)] duration of 21.5 (7, 33) months.

2-Staged Surgical Protocol for Management of Large Odontogenic Keratocyst.

The World Health Organisation classification and the treatment protocol for the odontogenic keratocyst (OKC), previously referred to as the keratocystic odontogenic tumour, were examined based on a study of the literature. Because not all OKCs have an identifiable protein patched homolog mutation, the idea of changing the management protocol for OKC in response to this shift in tumour category was met with scepticism and was not widely adopted. This study's objective was to outline a successful management plan for an odontogenic keratocyst in a patient who was 23 years old.

Comparative Evaluation of Intranasal Dexmedetomidine Spray Versus Intranasal Normal Saline Spray in Patients Undergoing Transalveolar Extractions for Anxiety Reduction: A Randomized Control Study.

Background: Dexmedetomidine has dose-dependent selectivity for alpha 2 adrenoceptors. It is a good sedative with analgesic characteristics and good haemodynamic stability. Intranasal sedation is a non-invasive medication delivery method that is both safe and well accepted by both children and adults.

Ocular biopsy through external needle drainage for isolated bilateral ocular relapse of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Background: Isolated ocular relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia is not commonly seen. Subretinal infiltration and exudative retinal detachment may not provide a positive vitreous biopsy for histopathologic confirmation.

Method: We present a case of a 5-year-old male patient with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in remission, who presented with bilateral subretinal leukemic infiltrates and exudative retinal detachment.

Footwear and foot care knowledge as risk factors for foot problems in Indian diabetics.

We assessed 300 diabetic and 100 age- and sex-matched controls for correlating foot wear practices and foot care knowledge and the presence of foot complications. A structured questionnaire evaluated the knowledge about foot care, type of footwear used, education level, association of tobacco abuse, and any associated symptoms of foot disease. Clinical evaluation was done by inspection of feet for presence of any external deformities, assessment of sensory function (vibration perception threshold, VPT), vascular status (foot pulses and ankle brachial ratio) and presence of any infection.
