While electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is the gold standard treatment for catatonia, it is typically administered if the patient's symptoms fail to respond to benzodiazepines. We describe the case of a 22-year-old male with Budd Chiari induced cirrhosis and no prior psychiatric history, who presented with symptoms of psychosis and hepatic encephalopathy, was treated in the ICU for multi-factorial delirium, developed symptoms of catatonia that failed to respond to lorazepam, ultimately requiring ECT with a favorable response.

Pharmacologic therapy may suffice initially, but advanced stages demand mechanical intervention. Pulmonary stent implantation (PSI) and pulmonary balloon angioplasty (PBA) are common strategies, both carrying restenosis risks.

This study systematically investigates how surface topography and morphology of gold nanocarriers influence drug loading capacity, light-to-heat conversion efficiency, and overall therapeutic performance in photo/chemotherapy. We synthesized four distinct morphologies of gold nanoparticles: porous gold nanocups (PAuNCs), porous gold nanospheres (PAuNSs), solid gold nanocups (SAuNCs), and solid gold nanospheres (SAuNSs).

Ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death driven by lipid peroxidation, has recently emerged as a promising therapeutic target for GBM treatment. However, there are currently no non-invasive imaging techniques to monitor the engagement of pro-ferroptotic compounds with their respective targets, or to monitor the efficacy of ferroptosis-based therapies.
