Age-related dopamine (DA) neuron loss is a primary feature of Parkinson's disease. However, whether similar biological processes occur during healthy aging, but to a lesser degree, remains unclear. We therefore determined whether midbrain DA neurons degenerate during aging in mice and humans.

To characterize the transcriptional and translational landscape of HIV-1 infected cells, we used a combination of ribosome profiling, disome sequencing and RNA sequencing. We show that HIV-1 messenger RNAs are efficiently translated at all stages of infection, despite evidence for a substantial decrease in the translational efficiency of host genes that are implicated in host cell translation.

There has been a focus on early memory network changes; longer-term plasticity and its impact on memory function are unclear. Our study investigates neural mechanisms of memory recovery and network plasticity over nearly a decade post-surgery.

While this is an important treatment option, many patients fail to achieve complete remission and of those that do, majority relapse. Leukemia stem cells (LSCs) are believed to be responsible for AML relapse and can be targeted through oxidative phosphorylation reduction.

Methods: We used four-year annual Australian/Canadian Hand Osteoarthritis Index (AUSCAN) pain subscale (range 0-20) measurements from the Hand OSTeoArthritis in Secondary Care cohort (patients with hand OA). Pain changes were categorized as deterioration, stable, and improvement using the Minimal Clinical Important Improvement.
