Diatoms are a type of algae with many species. Accurate and quick classification of diatom species is important in many fields, such as water quality analysis and weather change forecasting. Traditional methods for diatom classification, specifically morphological taxonomy and molecular detection, are time-consuming and may not provide satisfactory performance.

The eight N-coordinated silver(I) complexes were screened for both antimicrobial activities against Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Acinetobacter baumannii) and Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus MRSA, and Enterococcus faecalis) bacteria and antifungal activities against Candida albicans and Candida glabrata strains. Moderate minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of 0.

Methods And Materials: A total of 128 specimens (10 mm diameter, 4 mm thickness) were prepared from a conventional resin composite (Filtek Z250 [Z250]), a giomer bulk-fill (Beautifil Bulk Restorative [BBR]) and two nongiomer bulk-fill materials (Tetric N-Ceram Bulk Fill [TNC] and SonicFill 2 [SF2]). Each material group was divided into four subgroups (n=8) according to the storage media: artificial saliva (control), orange juice, regular Coke, and sports drink.
Schiff bases (imines or azomethines) are versatile ligands synthesized from the condensation of amino compounds with active carbonyl groups and used for many pharmaceutical and medicinal applications. In our study, we aimed to determine the cytotoxic, antifungal and larvicidal activities of biologically potent bis-sulfonamide Schiff base derivatives that were re-synthesized by us. For this aim, 16 compounds were re-synthesized and tested for their cytotoxic, antifungal and larvicidal properties.

Sulfur metabolism is a dynamic process, responding to a number of external cues. Because of this dynamics and rapid turnover, steady-state levels of sulfur-containing compounds do not always fully reflect plant responses to such cues.
