Draft genome sequences of 13 isolates from farmed Norwegian (lumpfish) and (turbot).

Thirteen bacterial isolates of were sequenced and assembled. The strains were isolated from four disease outbreaks in farmed marine fish in Norway. Eight isolates were from (lumpfish), and five were from (turbot).

Biodistribution and therapeutic efficacy of a gold nanoparticle-based targeted drug delivery system against pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is characterized by desmoplasia; crosstalk between pancreatic cancer cells (PCCs) and pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) leads to the deposition of extracellular matrix proteins in the tumor environment resulting in poor vascularity. Targeting either PCCs or PSCs individually has produced mixed results, and there is currently no effective strategy to target both cell types simultaneously. Previously, we demonstrated, through in vitro cell culture experiments, that a specific gold nanoparticle-based nanoformulation containing the anti-EGFR antibody cetuximab (C225) as a targeting agent and gemcitabine as a chemotherapeutic agent effectively targets both PCCs and PSCs simultaneously.

Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Activity of Titanium Dioxide Nanotubes Conjugated with Quercetin.

Inflammation is closely associated with cancer and leads to the formation of various malignancies. Quercetin is a naturally occurring flavonoid, with numerous pharmaceutical activities like anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor effects. Due to its partial solubility in an aqueous solution, its consumption is limited.

Phylogeography and host specificity of pathogenic to sea-farmed fish in the north-east Atlantic.

The present study was undertaken to address the recent spate of pasteurellosis outbreaks among sea-farmed Atlantic salmon () in Norway and Scotland, coinciding with sporadic disease episodes in lumpfish () used for delousing purposes in salmon farms. Genome assemblies from 86 bacterial isolates cultured from diseased salmon or lumpfish confirmed them all as members of the family, with phylogenetic reconstruction dividing them into two distinct branches sharing <88% average nucleotide identity.
