Ultrasonography-guided percutaneous release of A3 pulley of the fifth finger to treat trigger finger: Description of the technique, with reference to a specific case.

Trigger finger causes pain and a persistent functional limitation of the hand, which can lead to permanent blockage of the flexor tendon. Ultrasonography-guided percutaneous release has been widely reported as a successful technique for trigger finger involving the A1 pulley. This article describes for the first time the use of this technique in an unusual location, the A3 pulley of the fifth finger.
