Background: Despite the connections and clear importance of the cerebellum in motor function, research utilizing cerebellar neuromodulation for treatment of movement disorders is still underdeveloped. Here we conduct a systematic review to investigate non-invasive neurostimulation of the cerebellum and its potential impact on motor systems and its function. Our aim is to give a general review of each neurostimulation study focusing on the cerebellum as a treatment target in the past five years at time of search, in order to update the field on current findings and inspire similar cerebellar neurostimulation research without unnecessary repetition.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel deep-ridge laser structure with atomic-layer deposition (ALD) sidewall passivation was proposed that enhances the optical characteristics of 8-µm ridge width III-nitride violet lasers on freestanding m-plane GaN substrates. The internal loss was determined using the variable stripe length method, where the laser structure with ALD sidewall passivation showed lower internal loss compared to the conventional shallow-ridge laser design. ALD sidewall passivation plays a critical role in device improvements; compared to the lasers without ALD sidewall passivation, the lasers with ALD sidewall passivation yield improved optoelectrical performance and longer lifetime under continuous-wave operation at high current density.

The aim of this article is to provide an update on current knowledge relating to: the pattern and incidence of severe blood dyscrasias; the effectiveness of current monitoring regimes in reducing harm; the mechanisms of and the distinctions between clozapine-induced neutropenia and agranulocytosis; benign ethnic neutropenia; and changes to the monitoring thresholds in the USA and other international variations.
