Cannabinoids in the management of severe nausea and vomiting from cancer chemotherapy. Some additional considerations.

Although the cannabinoids are effective antidotes to the nausea and vomiting produced by cancer chemotherapy, they also have other properties that may be of therapeutic value. These should be explored. The possibility of interactions, both useful and harmful, between the anticancer drugs and other drugs used at the same time needs intensive study.

Isolation of antitumor polysaccharide fractions from Yucca glauca Nutt. (Lilliaceae).

An aqueous alcoholic extract of fresh flowers of Yucca glauca Nutt. showed striking antitumor activity against B16 melanoma in mice. Systematic fractionation of the extract by means of solvent extraction and gel permeation chromatography led to separation of two galactose containing polysaccharide fractions with marked inhibitory activity against B16 melanoma in mice.
