[The effect of allapinine on external respiratory function in patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system].

The cardiorespiratory system was studied comprehensively in 27 patients with permanent atrial fibrillation (PAF) without the clinically marked signs of circulatory failure. After allapinine treatment 15 patients with bronchial obstruction manifestations demonstrated, in the presence of lasting PAF, a significant increase of the forced expiration capacity per s and of the maximum volumetric expiration rates. The data obtained may attest to the fact that the drug has beta-stimulating properties, confirming the reported evidence.

[Effect of peripheral vasodilators on pulmonary respiratory function and the indices of bicycle spiroergometry in heart failure patients].

The effect of corinfar and isosorbide on respiratory function of the lungs and indices of spirobicycle ergometry was studied in 40 patients with heart failure resulting from various heart diseases. The results have shown that despite difference in the mechanism of action, the use of these drugs at the given doses combined with digoxin is accompanied by a distinct and comparable positive influence on external respiratory function and indices of spirobicycle ergometry in patients with heart failure.

[Dynamics of respiratory function and and bicycle ergometry in the treatment of patients with chronic circulatory failure].

Data are presented on external respiration at rest and during exercise (bicycle ergometry) in 20 patients with chronic circulatory insufficiency due to a variety of heart diseases, as well as variation in the above in the course of treatment with digoxin and calcium antagonist corinfar. External respiration parameters of the examined patients were compared with those of 40 apparently normal controls. Some mechanisms of action and the effects of digoxin, corinfar and combined use of the two on external respiration parameters are discussed.
