Introduction: The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) Knowledge, Skills, and Behavior (KSB) project sets up a framework for competency-based medical education for orthopaedic surgery residency training. The Behavior aspect of KSB includes use of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Behavior Tool (ABOSBT) to assess 5 domains of professional behavior. The purpose of this study was to analyze the results of 2 years of ABOSBT assessments and to characterize the low score ratings.

The multidimensional forced-choice (MFC) format is an alternative to rating scales in which participants rank items according to how well the items describe them. Currently, little is known about how to detect careless responding in MFC data. The aim of this study was to adapt a number of indices used for rating scales to the MFC format and additionally develop several new indices that are unique to the MFC format.

Unlabelled: Treatment of children with chronic ankle pain, lateral instability, and the presence of a subfibular ossicle (SO) can be challenging. When will these patients respond to nonoperative management, and when will they require surgery? The purpose of this study was to investigate the utility of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in clinical decision-making for patients with symptomatic SOs.

Methods: We performed a retrospective study of pediatric patients with lateral ankle pain, recurrent sprains, and radiographs showing SOs who had undergone an MRI as part of their diagnostic work-up.

Introduction: Medical students are challenged with a limited number of research opportunities to help prepare for an exceptionally competitive process for matching in an orthopaedic residency. The aim of this study was to assess the 3-year experience of our 8 to 10-week remote summer research program in support of underrepresented students with an interest in orthopaedic surgery.

Methods: We received over 500 applications, and a total of 37 students (7.

Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) takes place in various types of electrochemical devices that are pivotal for the conversion and storage of renewable energy. This paper describes a strategy in the design of solid-state structures of OER electrocatalysts through controlling the cation substitution on the active metal site and consequently valence band center position of site-mixed Y(YRu)O pyrochlore to achieve high catalytic activity. We found that partially replacing the B-site Ru cation with A-site Y in pyrochlore-structured YRuO modifies the oxidation state of B-site Ru from 4 to 5, as observed by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy but does not continuously increase the oxygen vacancy concentration in these oxygen substoichiometric compositions, as quantified by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) decomposition studies.
