Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCC) is a rare malignant liver tumor with limited therapeutic advancements. Despite its increasing global incidence knowledge of treatment options remains stagnant, leading to poor five-year patient survival rates and high recurrence post-surgery. ALDH1A1, a member of the ALDH superfamily, is associated with cancer stem cells and has conflicting reports regarding its prognostic role in iCC.

Background/objectives: Colorectal cancer (CRC) with hepatic (CRLM) and pulmonary metastases (CRLU) presents a significant clinical challenge, leading to poor prognosis. Surgical resection of these metastases remains controversial because of limited evidence supporting its long-term benefits. To evaluate the impact of surgical resection of both hepatic and pulmonary metastases on long-term survival in patients with multivisceral metastatic colorectal cancer, this retrospective cohort study included 192 patients with UICC stage IV CRC treated at a high-volume academic center.

The role of ALBI score in patients treated with stereotactic body radiotherapy for locally advanced primary liver tumors: a pooled analysis of two prospective studies.

Introduction: To evaluate the outcomes after stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for locally advanced primary liver cancer.

Materials And Methods: Patients with locally advanced liver cancer unsuitable for other loco-regional treatments were treated with SBRT with 50-60 Gy in 3-12 fractions in two consecutive prospective trials.

Results: A total of 83 patients were included, of whom 14 were excluded, leaving 69 evaluable patients with 74 treated lesions.
