Background: An effective strategy to reduce perinatal mortality requires an active surveillance system. This includes monitoring cases, organizing multidisciplinary local audits, conducting Confidential Enquiries, identifying avoidable factors, and facilitating changes in the healthcare system. The present paper aims to summarize the appropriate management of these conditions in order to try to improve how clinicians perceive, diagnose and treat iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia.
Methods: An expert panel of Italian obstetricians of Lazio region was convened to evaluate the available literature on iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia during pregnancy and the post-partum in order to try to define a flow chart on the appropriate management of such conditions; aspects related to the patient blood management have also been investigated.
Objective: To predict birth weight at various potential gestational ages of delivery based on data routinely available at the first antenatal visit.
Design: Individual participant data meta-analysis.
Data Sources: Individual participant data of four cohorts (237 228 pregnancies) from the International Prediction of Pregnancy Complications (IPPIC) network dataset.

Case Representation: Although hypophysitis is rare, this pituitary disease can occur during pregnancy or in the postpartum period.

Objective: Preeclampsia (PE) is the major cause of maternal morbidity and mortality and the leading cause of premature delivery worldwide. As well as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), PE is associated with pathogenic evidence of placental malperfusion and ischemia. Recent literature has highlighted the potential of pravastatin in the prevention and treatment of these conditions.
