Background: Recommending comprehensive personalized photoprotection requires an accurate assessment of the patient's skin, including phototype, lifestyle, exposure conditions, environmental factors, and concomitant cutaneous conditions as well as deep knowledge of the available options: sunscreen ingredients (type of filters, spectrum coverage, sun protection factor, enhanced active ingredients), oral photoprotection, and other methods of sun protection and avoidance.
Objectives: To establish consensus-based recommendations endorsed by an international panel of experts for personalized medical photoprotection recommendations that are applicable globally.
Methods: A two-round Delphi study was designed to determine the degree of agreement and relevance of aspects related to personalized medical photoprotection.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare estimates of adherence to oral endocrine therapy (OET) based on real-world data (RWD) and on clinical evaluation in people diagnosed with breast cancer in the public healthcare system in Catalonia (Spain).
Methods: We conducted two retrospective cohort studies. Cohort 1 (RWD) consisted of women diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 in the public healthcare system of Catalonia (Spain).
Objectives: Diabetes self-management education (DSME) is effective in improving outcomes among adults with diabetes (AWD); but engagement in DSME has been lower among Hispanic AWD. We examined factors predicting engagement of Hispanic AWD in culturally tailored DSME that included a family/friend 'support person'.
Methods: 222 predominantly Hispanic AWD enrolled in DSME with a support person (SP), half of the AWD-SP pairs participated in pair-focused ('FAM-ACT') DSME and the others in patient-focused DSME.
Unlabelled: Data from low and middle-income countries (LMICs) on multidrug-resistant microorganisms (MDROs) in intensive care units (ICUs) are scarce. Working in several ICUs in Argentina, we sought to estimate the prevalence and characteristics of MDRO infections and carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (CPE) colonization. Mortality associated with MDRO infection was also evaluated.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is a cystic lesion originating from odontogenic epithelium, exhibiting ameloblastomatous features and containing focal accumulations of ghost cells. The standard treatment for COC typically involves enucleation followed by surgical curettage. However, if the cyst is large or closely associated with anatomical structures, decompression may be considered as a preliminary step before enucleation.
