The amino thiols are key antioxidants in organisms, and their detection in food is of significant importance. This study developed a new stable isotope chemical labelling coupled with ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method to detect six amino thiols from fish samples. By the proposed method, amino thiols were labeled after liquid extraction using the stable isotope labeling reagents of iodoacetamide (IAM) and D-IAM.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) is a member of the genus Alphacoronavirus in the family Coronaviridae, which has a mortality rate of up to 100 % in neonatal piglets and causes huge economic losses to the pig industry. The target cells of PEDV infection are porcine small intestinal epithelial cells, and the mechanism of PEDV invasion remains unclear. Our study found that dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) acts as a cofactor for PEDV infection by promoting PEDV invasion and replication.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been widely applicated for the treatment of patients with advanced esophageal cancer. Skin-related adverse reactions are frequent with ICIs, with toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) being a severe and potentially life-threatening cutaneous reaction.

Case Presentation: We present a case of a 70-year-old male with locally advanced esophageal cancer who developed severe toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) after 18 days of tislelizumab combined with chemotherapy.

The application of plant growth regulators is an effective method to enhance flavonoid content in certain fruits; however, there is limited research comparing the effects of different plant growth regulators. This study evaluated the impact of pre-harvest application with melatonin, 24-epibrassinolide, and methyl jasmonate on flavonoid content in blueberry fruit. All three plant growth regulators increased the total polyphenol content, total flavonoid content, antioxidant capacities, and the activities of key enzymes involved in flavonoid biosynthesis, including flavone synthase, flavanone 3-hydroxylase, flavonol synthase, anthocyanidin synthase, and leucoanthocyanidin reductase.

Objectives: Traditional methods of treating allergies primarily revolve around avoiding allergens and promptly using rescue medications when allergic symptoms occur. However, this approach is known for its inefficiency and limited success in achieving long-term relief. Our aim was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of previously published randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that explore the effectiveness and safety of epicutaneous immunotherapy (EPIT) as a means to manage food allergies in children.
