Pancreatic cystic changes in adults are increasingly identified through advanced cross-sectional imaging. However, the impact of initial/intra-lobular epithelial remodeling on the local β-cell population remains unclear. In this study, we examined 10 human cadaveric donor pancreases (tail and body regions) via integration of stereomicroscopy, clinical H&E histology, and 3D immunohistochemistry, identifying 36 microcysts (size: 1.

Background/objective: The treatment strategy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with Vp4 (main trunk) portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) remains controversial due to the dismal prognosis. We aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) plus lenvatinib and tislelizumab in these patients.

Methods: This multicenter retrospective study included treatment-naive HCC patients with Vp4 PVTT from 2017 to 2022.

Sigal peptides have garnered remarkable efficacy in rejuvenating photoaged skin and delaying senescence. Nevertheless, their low solubility and poor permeability bring about a formidable challenge in their transdermal delivery. To address this challenge, bioactive ionic liquids (ILs) synthesized from natural glycyrrhizic acid (GA) and oxymatrine (OMT) with eminent biocompatibility is first prepared.

Alzheimers Dement

December 2024

Background: There is increasing evidence that cerebrovascular and glymphatic-related deficits may precede and influence AD pathology. In this study, we investigated the relationship between enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS) as a measure of glymphatic clearance integrity and white matter hyperintensities (WMH) as a measure of cerebrovascular integrity.

Method: Participants from ADNI-3 (N = 1026) who were diagnosed as cognitively unimpaired (CU) (n = 567), mild cognitively impaired (MCI) (n = 345), or AD dementia (n = 114) were included (Figure 2).

Protein lactylation is an emerging field. To advance the exploration of its biological functions, here we develop a comprehensive workflow that integrates proteomics to identify lactylated sites, genetic code expansion (GCE) for the expression of site-specifically lactylated proteins in living cells, and an integrated functional analysis (IFA) platform to evaluate their biological effects. Using a combined wet-and-dry-lab proteomics strategy, we identify a conserved lactylation at ALDOA-K147, which we hypothesize plays a significant biological role.
