Objective: Despite lack of evidence supporting efficacy, prophylactic fresh frozen plasma and Octaplas transfusions may be administered to very preterm infants to reduce bleeding risk. International variation in plasma transfusion practices in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) is poorly understood, therefore, we aimed to describe neonatal plasma transfusion practice in Europe.
Design: Prospective observational study.
Introduction/aims: Literature on the role of gastrostomy and noninvasive ventilation (NIV) in primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) is limited. We aim to investigate whether PLS patients develop dysphagia requiring feeding tubes or respiratory failure necessitating NIV.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of PLS patients with a definite diagnosis followed at our center (1994-2024).

This study aims to report the dietary and daily management, clinical signs, complementary exams, and pathological findings related to an acute and fatal case of gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV) in a captive Linnaeus's two-toed sloth () in the Amazon Biome. An adult female sloth, rescued after being electrocuted, was housed at the Wildlife Section of the Veterinary Hospital (WSVH) of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine (IVM) at the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA). It was fed a diverse diet that included animal protein, fruits, vegetables, and greens, with vitamin and mineral supplementation.

To date, however, this field still remains relatively unexplored. In the present work, CoO/GO covalently linked heterostructures (CoO/GO-CL) were produced using 2D-CoO functionalized with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) to react with the carboxyl groups of graphene oxide (GO).
