The possibility of estimating the effective atomic number distribution from the ratio of the scattering and total absorption coefficients is considered. To illustrate the use of this technique in mammology, the results of measurement of microcalcinate and cholesterol distribution are discussed. It is suggested that tomographic examination of mammary gland should include detection of scattered radiation.

The aeration conditions are optimized using the mathematical method of experiment planning. It is established that the air supply favours an increase of the bacillary biomass and insecticide activity for the whole cultivation period.

Optimal conditions of the inoculum preparation are determined. Productivity of the strain when inoculating the medium with the aerial-dry inoculum was studied as compared to the inoculation by the inoculum taken from the mown agar.

The data obtained may be used when optimizing the medium for the submerged cultivation of a bactoculicide producer.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe mathematical method of experimental design was used to develop a new enzymic medium for cultivation of Bacillus thuringiensis H14 266/2-1, a bactoculicide producer. The optimized medium based on corn flour enzyme lysate as a carbon source and fodder yeast enzyme lysate as a source of nitrogen amine made it possible to increase twice the titre biomass yield for 24 h cultivation as compared to the initial medium. The above medium does not yield to the initial production medium in the insecticide activity.
