Context.—: The current melanoma staging system does not account for 26% of the variance seen in melanoma-specific survival, therefore our ability to predict patient outcome is not fully elucidated. Morphology may be of greater significance than in other solid tumors, with Breslow thickness remaining the strongest prognostic indicator despite being subject to high levels of interobserver variation.

Cell adhesion-dependent phosphorylation of insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R) on its C-terminal tail (CT) at Tyr promotes receptor internalization and Golgi accumulation. We previously proposed that this phosphorylation is associated with cell migration and cancer aggressiveness, distinguishing IGF-1R activity from that of insulin receptor, which lacks these tyrosines. Here, we further investigated how adhesion signaling influences IGF-1R location and activity in migratory cancer cells and R- fibroblasts.

Background: The initial baseline audit showed that only 24% of patients had a documented VTE- RA, this demonstrated an urgent need to improve VTE-RA in hospitalised patients. This quality improvement project (QIP) aimed to achieve 90% compliance in completing the VTE-RA tool and embedding this process into practice. Several measures were carried out which included the development of a TP policy, VTE-RA tool, education sessions and monthly point prevalence audits incorporating Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) cycles.

Differential diagnosis of dementia remains a challenge in neurology due to symptom overlap across etiologies, yet it is crucial for formulating early, personalized management strategies. Here, we present an artificial intelligence (AI) model that harnesses a broad array of data, including demographics, individual and family medical history, medication use, neuropsychological assessments, functional evaluations and multimodal neuroimaging, to identify the etiologies contributing to dementia in individuals. The study, drawing on 51,269 participants across 9 independent, geographically diverse datasets, facilitated the identification of 10 distinct dementia etiologies.
