Newly qualified professional nurses' experiences providing postoperative care to children in CTICU.

Background:  It is challenging for newly qualified professional nurses (NQPNs) to care for children with congenital heart abnormalities following cardiac surgery in cardiothoracic critical care units. This population of nurses is allocated to critically ill children in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit (CTICU) even though they lack sufficient knowledge, experience and skills to care for these patients.

Objectives:  This study explored, described and made recommendations to support NQPNs who provide postoperative care to children in a CTICU.

Despite several studies on learner-to-teacher workplace violence and harassment, the problem persists in some South African schools. Learner-to-teacher violence and harassment is a form of workplace violence and harassment, as schools are workplaces for teachers. Learner-to-teacher violence and harassment is therefore an important occupational health and safety issue for teachers.

Newly qualified intensive care nurses' lived experiences of being a shift leader in a private healthcare institution in Gauteng, South Africa.

Objective: Newly qualified intensive care nurses (NQICNs) are expected to execute the shift-leading role immediately after graduation. Critical reasoning, problem-solving, decision-making, and evidence-based clinical judgment are thus essential skills for intensive care nursing graduates. This study aimed to explore and describe NQICNs' lived experiences of being shift leaders.

Outpatients' satisfaction with healthcare services received at a district hospital in Botswana.

Objectives: To investigate patient satisfaction regarding healthcare services at a district hospital. The research question was: what is the level of patient satisfaction regarding service delivery?

Design: An observational cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in September 2019.

Settings: A district hospital in Botswana serving a population of 90 000.

Health System- and Patient-Related Factors Associated with COVID-19 Mortality among Hospitalized Patients in Limpopo Province of South Africa's Public Hospitals.

South Africa has recorded the highest COVID-19 morbidity and mortality compared to other African regions. Several authors have linked the least amount of death in African countries with under-reporting due to poor health systems and patients' health-seeking behaviors, making the use of clinical audits more relevant for establishing the root causes of health problems, and improving quality patient care outcomes. Clinical audits, such as mortality audits, have a significant role in improving quality health care services, but very little is documented about the outcomes of the audits.
