Background: Humans are primary drivers of environmental-contaminant exposures worldwide, including in drinking-water (DW). In the United States, point-of-use DW (POU-DW) is supplied via private tapwater (TW), public-supply TW, and bottled water (BW). Differences in management, monitoring, and messaging and lack of directly-intercomparable exposure data influence the actual and perceived quality and safety of different DW supplies and directly impact consumer decision-making.

The anti-inflammatory potential of the samples was analysed using the cyclooxygenases inhibition activity, and the antidiabetic activity was evaluated using a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor screening assay.

After a stroke, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects 10% to 30% of those patients and may compromise a survivor's secondary prevention compliance. At an inner-city clinic in Maryland where up to 300 young adult stroke survivors are followed, zero patients were screened for PTSD.
