Background: The long-term recurrence risk after a pregnancy-associated venous thromboembolism (VTE) is sparsely assessed.
Objectives: To determine the rate of recurrence after a pregnancy-associated VTE and identify associated risk factors.
Methods: Five hundred eighty-seven women with a history of first VTE occurring during pregnancy or up to 3 months after delivery were referred to La Timone Hospital, Marseille, France.
Lipid droplets (LDs) are highly specialized energy storage organelles involved in the maintenance of lipid homoeostasis by regulating lipid flux within white adipose tissue (WAT). The physiological function of adipocytes and LDs can be compromised by mutations in several genes, leading to NEFA-induced lipotoxicity, which ultimately manifests as metabolic complications, predominantly in the form of dyslipidemia, ectopic fat accumulation, and insulin resistance. In this review, we delineate the effects of mutations and deficiencies in genes - , , , , , , , , , and - involved in lipid droplet metabolism and their associated pathophysiological impairments, highlighting their roles in the development of lipodystrophies and metabolic dysfunction.

We present a 6-year late complication of type A aortic dissection treated by Bentall surgery in a 41-year-old patient. The patient presented with several episodes of lipothymia associated with hypertensive attacks with anisotension, cervicalgia, hemicranial headache, abdominal pain and lower limb slipping initially on exertion and later at rest.

Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) is a non-inflammatory vascular disease that is characterized by unexplained systemic hypertension occurring in young people, associated with arterial stenosis, aneurysm rupture, intracranial/renal infarction, and stroke. Although the gold standard for the diagnosis remains catheter-angiography, biological markers would be helpful due to the delay from first symptom to diagnosis. Adenosine is an ATP derivative, that may be implicated in FMD pathophysiology.
