Background: Vitamin D-dependent rickets type 1 A (VDDR1A) is an autosomal recessive disorder due to mutations in the CYP27B1 gene which result in inability to generate 1,25(OH)D.
Case Presentation: An 18-month-old boy with VDDR1A presented with hypotonia and respiratory distress. He had been diagnosed 2 months earlier, having been evaluated for stunted growth, hypotonia, and delayed developmental milestones.
Near-term quantum computers are expected to facilitate material and chemical research through accurate molecular simulations. Several developments have already shown that accurate ground-state energies for small molecules can be evaluated on present-day quantum devices. Although electronically excited states play a vital role in chemical processes and applications, the search for a reliable and practical approach for routine excited-state calculations on near-term quantum devices is ongoing.

For classical simulation, strong correlation often results in symmetry breaking of the Hartree-Fock reference, leading to Löwdin's well-known "symmetry dilemma", whereby accuracy in the energy can be increased by breaking spin or spatial symmetries. Here, we explore the impact of symmetry breaking on the performance of ADAPT-VQE using two strongly correlated systems: (i) the "fermionized" anisotropic Heisenberg model, where the anisotropy parameter controls the correlation in the system, and (ii) symmetrically stretched linear H, where correlation increases with increasing H-H separation.

We report a case of chronic left flank neuropathic pain after a renal cyst removal in a 54-year old female. The patient was treated with a single application of capsaicin 8% dermal patch, with satisfactory results at an eight week follow up visit. Capsaicin 8% dermal patch could be a suitable alternative in the conservative management of post laparoscopy neuropathic pain, as it can be effective and has a well-tolerated safety profile.
