Long-term strategies are needed for the ecological restoration of land invaded by perennial weed species comprising of two parts: (1) control of the invasive species and (2) restoration of native vegetation meeting agricultural/conservation objectives. We investigated this within a statistically-rigorous, 28-year experiment at a site where Pteridium aquilinum had invaded an acid-grass/heathland. Where P.

Article Synopsis
  • Dielectric elastomers (DEs) are effective for soft electromechanical systems but face limitations like electromechanical instability and the need for high voltage.
  • This study introduces a dual-modal DE system with a dual-membrane structure that mitigates these issues by enabling charge sharing and allows for both energy harvesting and actuation.
  • The enhanced system outperforms traditional DE generators by up to 30% and is integrated into a soft robot that can move and monitor temperatures wirelessly, showing potential for various applications in robotics and energy harvesting.

Aim Using two classifications, this study assessed root morphology and canal configuration and measured the Dentin thickness (DT) and canal shapes. Methods Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) with 400 Mandibular Incisors was collected and assessed for the number, length, curvature of roots, number of canals, bifurcation level, configurations based on Vertucci's and Ahmed's classification, DT and canal shape at 3, 6, 9 mm from the apex. The collected data was subjected to statistical analysis with a level of significance at p<0.

Biomedical signals, encapsulating vital physiological information, are pivotal in elucidating human traits and conditions, serving as a cornerstone for advancing human-machine interfaces. Nonetheless, the fidelity of biomedical signal interpretation is frequently compromised by pervasive noise sources such as skin, motion, and equipment interference, posing formidable challenges to precision recognition tasks. Concurrently, the burgeoning adoption of intelligent wearable devices illuminates a societal shift towards enhancing life and work through technological integration.

Rising temperature due to changing climate significantly impacts the production of tomato. The morpho-physiological functions of tomato such as gas exchange, growth and development, flowering, fruit setting, quality, fruit size, weight that can influence the yield and production is drastically affected by higher temperatures. Among the growth stages of tomato, flowering and fruit setting stage is highly vulnerable to high temperature resulting in reduced flower numbers, increased flower abortion, stigma exertion, abnormal ovule, reduced pollen germination, pollen numbers, pollen tube development, pollen viability and increased male sterility.
