[The morphological changes in the periodontal tissues of outbred white rats during ontogeny].

Morphologic studies, carried out by three methods, by van Gieson's, Schmorl's methods, and with the use of 0.1% solution of safranin T, have revealed heretofore unknown structures lying beyond the tooth rudiment of white noninbred rats and disappearing in the course of ontogenesis. The mechanism of the formation of autonomic circulation of the dental follicle, unrelated to the animal body, has been shown.

[Trabeculodialysis].

Trabeculodialysis, a new antiglaucoma surgical technique, developed at the Chair for Ophthalmic Diseases of the Yaroslavl Medical Institute, is described. Trabeculodialysis is aimed at recovery of intraocular fluid discharge via Schlemm's channel and then through orifices into intra- and episcleral vessels; this technique is indicated for patients with open-angle glaucoma in trabecular form of retention. Since 1990 this operation was performed in 50 glaucoma patients.

[The treatment of periodontitis with prolonged-action propolis preparations (clinical x-ray research)].

A 4% alcohol solution of bee glue is suggested to be added to the filler for root-canal filling, besides the traditional treatment of the root canals with bee glue solution. Clinical and x-ray examinations have demonstrated a high efficacy of such technique in acute, exacerbated, and chronic forms of periodontitis. This filler is characterized by an anesthetizing effect; it resolves behind the root canal apex within 3-12 months, is preserved in the root canals, does not stain the tooth crown, promotes regeneration of the bone structures, and prolongs the effect of 0.

[The use of mathematical modelling and prediction for assessing the efficacy of the treatment of periodontitis].

The statistical prediction and mathematical modelling techniques were applied to the analysis of the results of treatment of periodontitis. The afflicted focus cross-sectional area (as measured by X-ray film) was taken as a variable. A total of 40 patients were divided into 2 groups.

[The use of computers for the interpretation and analysis of teleroentgenograms of the skull].

Software was designed suitable for detection of facial soft tissues contours and reading the anthropometric reference points with their plotting and calculation of angular, linear and indexed teleroentgenographic parameters. These were compared to normal data to determine their percent deviation.
