Background And Objectives: Sex and gender are important topics of increasing interest in aging and dementia research. Few studies have jointly examined sex (as a biological attribute) and gender (as a sociocultural and behavioral characteristic) within a single study. We explored a novel data mining approach to include both sex and gender as potentially related influences in memory aging research.

This case-cohort study used targeted plasma biomarkers and large-scale proteomics to examine the biological mechanisms that allow some APOEε4 carriers to maintain normal cognitive functioning in older adulthood.
Methods: APOEε4 carriers and APOEε3 homozygotes enrolled in the Women's Health Initiative Memory Study (WHIMS) from 1996 to 1999 were classified as resilient if they remained cognitively unimpaired beyond age 80, and as non-resilient if they developed cognitive impairment before or at age 80.
Purpose: The robot-assisted laparoscopic (RALUVR) and open (OUVR) approaches have both been described for ureterovesical reimplantation to treat benign lower ureteral pathologies. Thus, we aimed to compare the perioperative and functional outcomes of RALUVR vs. OUVR.

Background And Objective: Failure rates after first-line treatment of localized prostate cancer (PCa) treatment remain high; therefore, it is essential to improve the selection and identification of at-risk patients to reduce mortality. The aim of the ANDROCAN study was to evaluate the biochemical recurrence (BCR) in patients with localized PCa treated by total prostatectomy at 5 yr after surgery, according to their presurgery gonadal status.
Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted including 1318 patients undergoing total prostatectomy for localized PCa with a 5-yr postoperative follow-up.
