Digital therapeutics (DTx) are an emerging medical therapy comprising evidence-based interventions that are regulatory approved for patient use, or are under development, for a variety of medical conditions, including hypertension, cancer, substance use disorders and mental disorders. DTx have significant potential to reduce the overall burden on healthcare systems and offer potential economic benefits. There is currently no specific legal regulation on DTx in the EU.

Multidose drug dispensing (MDD) is the dispensing of different drugs in dose bags containing one, some, or all units of medicine that a patient needs to take at specific times. The aim of this narrative review is to provide an overview of the literature describing the use of MDD systems in community healthcare settings in patients with multimorbidity and polypharmacy. A literature search identified 14 studies examining adherence, medication knowledge, quality of drug prescription (including inappropriate drug use, drug-drug interactions), medication incidents, and drug changes after MDD initiation, as well as healthcare professional (HCP) and patient perspectives.

This paper summarises 'Share The Pressure' (STP), a project that developed and piloted a scalable model for engaging patients on the benefits of risk factor control for healthy ageing; training healthcare professionals (HCPs) in cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk communication and to engage patients around the benefits of understanding risk factor control to enable healthy ageing (age- based approaches have been demonstrated to be motivating for patients). Thus, to improve shared decision-making processes between nurses, pharmacists, and patients. The study features the use of a CVD risk tool called Heart Age, which has been shown to effectively motivate risk factor reduction in individuals.

Purpose: A national additional risk minimization measures (aRMMs) program was implemented to train pharmacists for safe supply of non-prescription Viagra Connect (VC) to erectile dysfunction (ED) patients in United Kingdom (UK). A survey aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of aRMMs.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a widely practiced surgical procedure, with its efficacy underscored by the increasing number of patients benefiting from it. As primary TKAs rise, the orthopaedic community must prepare for a surge in complex primary and revision knee arthroplasties in the future.
