The Predictive Properties of Psychiatric Diagnoses, Dynamic Risk and Dynamic Risk Change Assessed by the VRS-SO in Forensically Admitted and Released Sexual Offenders.

Psychiatric diagnoses, static risk factors, and criminogenic needs at time of admission and release were examined in a mentally ill sample of psychiatrically detained sexual offenders. Although clinically found to be at low or even very low risk at discharge, 12% reoffended sexually over an average follow-up of 7 years. Psychotic disorders were present in only 5% of offenders, whereas 93% had a personality disorder diagnosis and 76% a paraphilic disorder diagnosis.

Detection of ochratoxin a in human blood and colostrum.

Ochratoxin A (OA) is one of the most frequent sources of mycotoxin contamination of feed plants in Hungary. It is produced by 10% of Aspergillus and 12% of Penicillium species, i.e.

Simultaneous localization of two different tissue antigens based on the silver intensified PAP-DAB and on the traditional PAP-DAB method.

A new immunohistological method was elaborated for the light-microscopic detection of two tissue antigens in the same section. One of the antigens was visualized by the silver-gold intensified peroxidase-antiperoxidase complex (PAP)-diaminobenzidine (DAB) method resulting in a black coloured end-product. The other antigen was labelled by the brown reaction-product of the traditional PAP-DAB method.

For glucocorticoid prophylaxis against idiopathic respiratory distress syndrome, the authors feel that a decisive role is played by the waiting period following administration, depending on the results of amniotic fluid testing. They decided to wait 48 hours in cases of immature lung and 24 hours in cases of mature lung, both holding patterns under the protection of antibiotics. The incidence of idiopathic respiratory distress syndrome among their premature births over two years as well as mortality due to that cause were found to be lower than those in a control group.
