Background & Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the consequences of the histological progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and fibrosis on long-term survival after bariatric surgery.

Methods: From 1994 to 2021, 3028 patients at the University Hospital of Lille were prospectively included. Baseline liver biopsies were systematically performed with proposed follow-up biopsies 1 year after surgery, mainly in patients with MASH.

Background & Aims: Utility, a major principle for allocation in the context of transplantation, is questioned in patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure grade 3 (ACLF-3) who undergo liver transplantation (LT). We aimed to explore long-term outcomes of patients included in a three-centre retrospective French study published in 2017.

Method: All patients with ACLF-3 (n = 73), as well as their transplanted matched controls with ACLF-2 (n = 145), 1 (n = 119) and no ACLF (n = 292), who participated in the Princeps study published in 2017 were included.

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) has become essential in the treatment or prevention of portal hypertension-related complications. In the early 1990s, the primary indication was refractory bleeding. It is now proposed for the treatment of ascites for the prevention of bleeding and in patients with vascular diseases of the liver.

Background & Aims: To maximize utility and prevent premature liver transplantation (LT), a delayed LT strategy (DS) was adopted in France in 2015 in patients listed for any single HCC treated with resection or thermal ablation during the waiting phase. The DS involves postponing LT until recurrence. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the DS to make sure that it did not hamper pre- and post-LT outcomes.

Background: In recent years, age at liver transplantation (LT) has markedly increased. In the context of organ shortage, we investigated the impact of recipient age on post-transplantation mortality.

Methods: All adult patients who received a first LT between 2007 and 2017 were included in this cross-sectional study.
