Stress shielding in dental and orthopedic implants is a long-standing hurdle, and trabecular porous architecture to improve bone ingrowth is deemed to be a potential solution. Fabricating TiAlV components with dense-porous bilayer structures is complicated with limited lab-scale and commercial success. Here, a green dough-forming technique with metal powders is successfully explored to develop heterogeneous structures with a monolith-like dense-porous interface.

Herein, we report the synthesis, characterization, supramolecular gelation and multiple applications of 6-aminocoumarin-derived Schiff bases 1 and 2. Both Schiff bases underwent gelation in DMF-HO (2 : 1, v/v), DMSO-HO (2 : 1, v/v) and dioxane-HO (2 : 1, v/v) involving weak forces. Furthermore, the gels were stable and exhibited good viscoelastic properties.

A unified method toward the synthesis of functionalized diazepines and quinazolines through reorganization of the molecular skeleton has been devised. The process is indulged by electrical energy via a domino N-N bond cleavage followed by concomitant ring closing, initiating from cinnolines and indazoles as designed precursors. Additionally, an intermolecular ring homologation has also been established to synthesize densely functionalized dihydroquinazolines from 2,3-diaryl-indazoles and acetonitrile involving the same electrochemical strategy.
