Radiographic findings in patients suspected of subacromial impingement syndrome: prevalence and reliability.

Objective: Aims were to (i) report prevalence and (ii) evaluate reliability of the radiographic findings in examinations of patients suspected of subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS), performed before a patient's first consultation at orthopaedic department.

Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study examined radiographs from 850 patients, age 18 to 63 years, referred to orthopaedic clinic on suspicion of SIS. Prevalence (%) of radiographic findings were registered.

Hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands - current landscape and barriers.

Objectives: To describe the current organization and implementation of formalized, multi-disciplinary hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) structures in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Methods: A structured electronic questionnaire was sent to all trainees and specialists in clinical microbiology (N=207) and infectious diseases (N=260), as well as clinical pharmacists (N=20) and paediatricians (N=10) with expertise in infectious diseases. The survey had 30 multiple-choice, rating-scale, and open-ended questions based on an international consensus checklist for hospital AMS, adapted to a Danish context.

Patient-reported outcomes for arthroscopic resection of the distal clavicle with concomitant arthroscopic subacromial decompression at a 2-year follow-up: a prospective study of 131 consecutive patients.

Background: Arthroscopic distal clavicle resection (DCR) can be offered to patients with persistent acromioclavicular (AC) joint pain who do not benefit from conservative treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcome of combined arthroscopic DCR and concomitant arthroscopic subacromial decompression in a large consecutive and prospective cohort using patient-reported outcomes.

Methods: Consecutive patients were identified from our online database and included based on their primary treatment code.

Diabetic and non-diabetic patients report equal symptom relief after arthroscopic capsular release of frozen shoulder.

Background: Frozen shoulder is a painful joint disease. Patients with diabetes seem to have worse clinical symptoms and surgery in this patient population is believed to be more common.The objective postoperative evaluation indicates inferior results when surgically treating diabetics, but no previous studies have investigated exclusively the subjective patient satisfaction with arthroscopic capsular release.
