The comparison of the short and mid-term results of endovascular interventions and bypass graft surgery in the treatment of patients with intermittent claudication complaints because of isolated femoropopliteal artery disease.

Background: Intermittent Claudication (IC) is exercise pain seen in lower extremity arterial diseases. If it is left untreated, it may be the initial sign of a process leading to amputation. In the present study, the purpose was to compare the postoperative early and mid-term results of the patients who were treated with endovascular methods and those who underwent bypass graft surgery in the treatment due to IC complaints because of isolated Femoropopliteal Arterial Disease.

Treatment of Aortic and Iliac Artery Aneurysms with Multilayer Flow Modulator: Single Centre Experiences.

Objective: Presenting early and midterm results of aortic and iliac artery aneurysms treated with Multilayer Flow Modulators (MFM).

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 23 patients (19 males and 4 females) who are admitted to our clinic between April of 2014 and February of 2016, diagnosed with thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm and/or iliac aneurysm, and treated using MFM. The patients were followed up for the development of potential clinical presentations for 12 months.

Characteristics of venous insufficiency in western Turkey: VEYT-I study.

Objectives: Syndromes of venous hypertension and reduced venous clearance are important causes of morbidity and disability in patients with varicose venous disease. Published estimates of the prevalence of varicosities range from 7% to 55% in the adult population, with most studies demonstrating clinical varicose reflux in about 40% of the population where the frequency of venous insufficiency is believed to be higher in Westernized and industrialized nations, most likely due to differences in lifestyle and activity. Unfortunately, the prevalence in a Turkish population is not known.

Dietary polyphenol quercetin protects rat hearts during reperfusion: enhanced antioxidant capacity with chronic treatment.

Objective: Quercetin is an important member of dietary flavonoid family and widely present in red wine and Mediterranean diet. The major objective of the this study is to evaluate the beneficial effects of quercetin in protecting the myocardium from the deleterious effects of ischemia reperfusion (I/R) injury in chronic quercetin treatment with or without an acute quercetin infusion protocols.

Methods: Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats were included in this experimental randomized study/ Langendorff perfused isolated rat hearts were subjected to 60-min of global ischemia period following 60-min of reperfusion.
