The physician-patient relationship relies mostly on doctors' empathetic abilities to understand and manage patients' emotions, enhancing patient satisfaction and treatment adherence. With the advent of digital technologies in education, innovative empathy training methods such as virtual reality, simulation training systems, mobile apps, and wearable devices, have emerged for teaching empathy. Scaling convolutional neural networks achieves expert level seizure detection in neonatal EEG.

Neonatal seizures require urgent treatment, but often go undetected without expert EEG monitoring. We have developed and validated a seizure detection model using retrospective EEG data from 332 neonates. A convolutional neural network was trained and tested on over 50,000 hours (n = 202) of annotated single-channel EEG containing 12,402 seizure events.

Peptides are attracting a growing interest for therapeutic applications in biomedicine. In Parkinson's disease (PD), different human endogenous peptides have been associated with beneficial effects, including protein aggregation inhibition, reduced inflammation, or the protection of dopaminergic neurons. Such effects seem to be connected to the spatial arrangement of peptide side chains, and many of these human molecules share common conformational traits, displaying a distinctive amphipathic and cationic helical structure, which is believed to be crucial for their activities.
