[Anaesthesia for endocrine tumor removal].

Endocrine tumors could be defined by their ability to produce structural proteins or hormones common to nervous and endocrine cells. They might induce physiological transforms or outcome adverse events which should be well known in order to prevent or treat them early. The goal of this review was to describe these changes, to describe preoperative assessment, and to discuss intraoperative monitoring and drugs choice based on the literature from the last 30 years.

Endotracheal tube cuff pressure is unpredictable in children.

Unlabelled: The use of cuffed tracheal tubes in children younger than 8 yr of age has recently increased, although cuff hyperinflation may cause tracheal mucosal damage. In this study, we sought to measure the cuff pressure (P(cuff)) after initial free air inflation (iP(cuff)) and to follow its evolution throughout the duration of 50% nitrous oxide (N(2)O) anesthesia. Ketorolac and enoxaparin affect arterial thrombosis and bleeding in the rabbit.

Background: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may interfere with hemostasis during the perioperative period, and the combination of NSAID and enoxaparin could increase this effect. The aim of this prospective, blinded experimental study was to assess these effects using a model of arterial thrombosis and bleeding in the rabbit.

Methods: After anesthesia was induced and monitors placed, the common carotid arteries were exposed, and 60% stenosis of the right common carotid artery was produced.

[Comparison of the effects of ketorolac and aspirin on hemostasis in the rabbit].

Objective: Comparison of ketorolac with aspirin and placebo for the antithrombotic activity using the Folts' model of experimental arterial thrombosis and the perioperative blood loss.

Study Design: Experimental randomized blinded study anaesthetized, tracheotomized and mechanically ventilated. Carotid blood flow variations were detected by a probe directly inserted around the artery and monitored by an electromagnetic flowmeter.
