Background: We created a Multicenter Survey for Italian orthopedics surgeons on how they approach leg length discrepancy when dealing with primary total hip arthroplasty. Aim of the study was to show how surgeons manage LLD and follow literature recommendations during clinical practice.
Methods: The Survey was composed of 25 questions divided in 4 sections: surgeon's profile, preoperative and intraoperative evaluation, postoperative management.
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) now represents the mainstay of treatment for severe aortic stenosis. Owing to its exceptional procedural efficacy and safety, TAVI has been extended to include patients at lower surgical risk, thus now encompassing a diverse patient population receiving this treatment. Yet, long-term outcomes also depend on optimal medical therapy for secondary vascular prevention, with antithrombotic therapy serving as the cornerstone.

Aim: To examine low birth weight (LBW) in First Nations babies born in a large metropolitan health service in Queensland, Australia.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective population-based study using routinely collected data from administrative data sources. All singleton births in metropolitan health services, Queensland, Australia of ≥20 weeks gestation or at least 400 g birthweight and had information on First Nations status and born between 2019 and 2021 were included.
Background And Objective: Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) is classically identified as an incretin hormone, secreted in response to nutrient ingestion and able to enhance glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. However, other stimuli, such as physical exercise, may enhance GLP-1 plasma levels, and this exercise-induced GLP-1 secretion is mediated by interleukin-6 (IL-6), a cytokine secreted by contracting skeletal muscle. The aim of the study is to propose a mathematical model of IL-6-induced GLP-1 secretion and kinetics in response to physical exercise of moderate intensity.
