Objective: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the impact of a school-based nutrition and media education intervention on the promotion of fruit and vegetable consumption to help prevent childhood obesity.

Design: The 10-week-long intervention included sessions on nutrition education and media literacy. It also included a health communication media-based campaign workshop during which the children created posters, newsletters and video commercials related to fruits and vegetables targeted to their parents.

Marfan syndrome is usually inherited as an autosomal dominant trait with high degree of penetrance. It is caused by an abnormal fibrillin gene located on chromosome 15q. There is a very strong need for an effective and reliable method of contraception in the diabetic woman. An unplanned pregnancy that occurs when her diabetes is not under good control can have disastrous consequences, ranging from abortion to a congenitally malformed fetus. The most important factor in the contraceptive decision for the diabetic patient, especially the IDDM patient, is that the choice be made not by the clinician alone or the patient alone, but through a carefully through-out process that involves both patient and physician.

Objective: We studied the association of clinical and latent autoimmune diseases with circulating steroid-producing cells autoantibodies (SCA) in patients with premature ovarian failure (Group I). We investigated the presence of SCA in patients with organ-specific autoimmune diseases but without hypogonadism (Group II). We assessed whether SCA can be considered markers of hypergonadotrophic hypogonadism.
