Continuous bromocriptine treatment of empty sella syndrome aggravating pregnancy. A case report.

Pregnancy, aggravated by hyperprolactinaemic empty sella syndrome, is a risky and rare event. A case with such complication and continuous bromocriptine treatment during the whole gestation is presented. Neither fetal abnormalities nor deterioration of maternal pituitary pathology or the course of gestation are observed.

[Diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in men based on a clinical case].

A patient with tertiary hypogonadotropic hypogonadism was followed up for many years. On the basis of this observation the possibilities for a correct diagnosis with the gonadoliberin test are pointed out. A positive effect of the treatment with gonadotropic hormones, especially on the spermatogenesis, is established.

Immunohistochemical demonstration of estradiol in the guinea pig ovary.

Histochemical study of estradiol in the guinea pig ovary using RIA antiserum revealed specific estradiol fluorescence in theca interna cells and in single cells of atretic follicles. The fluorescence intensity was highest in the estrus phase.

[Specialized sensory perception in women with polycystic ovaries].

Specialized sensory perception was examined in 20 women with polycystic ovary syndrome and in 20 healthy women with normal ovulatory genital cycle. None of the healthy women disclosed any anomaly in sensory perception while with no exception all patients with polycystic ovary syndrome disclosed anomalies in sensory perception of one or other sensory analyzer. Defects in smell (hypoosmis) were more common (19 cases) than those of taste (hypogeusia) (II cases), of vestibular (14 cases) or auditory (3 cases) function, although defects in two or more analyzers occurred together in most of the cases.
