Cohort profile: a nationwide retrospective cohort of mortality in people living with HIV in the Republic of Korea, 1985-2020.

The increasing number of people living with HIV in Korea has prompted interest in using the national surveillance system as a database for studying their health. To investigate the relationships between sociodemographic and epidemiological characteristics and mortality rates, a nationwide retrospective cohort was formed by integrating surveillance data with the Cause of Death Statistics from Statistics Korea. This integration included incidence reports, epidemiological investigations, and death reports from the surveillance data, enriched with detailed mortality information from the Cause of Death data.

Fabrication of a novel reusable nanozyme by immobilizing Co-doped carbon dots on nanocellulose aerogels for efficient dyes degradation.

Carbon dot-based nanozymes have gained significant attention, but their application in dye degradation remains limited due to low activity and challenges in recovery and reuse. To overcome these limitations, high peroxidase-active Co-doped carbon dots (CoCDs) with surface amines were synthesized via hydrothermal method and immobilized onto TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils (TOCNF) aerogels using EDC/NHS coupling. For the first time, this study investigates the dye degradation efficiency of CDs nanozyme.

Background: Aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) is a progressive atherosclerotic disease associated with future cardiovascular events (CVE). However, whether its development and prognostic value are independent of arterial atherosclerosis has not been thoroughly investigated. We evaluated the determinants and prognostic value of AVS in conjunction with carotid atherosclerosis.
