Cutaneous myiasis is most commonly seen in travelers returning to the United States. There are rare reports of US-acquired human myiasis, with Cuterebra larvae being the most common causative organism. Gasterophilus, also known as the horse botfly, however, rarely infests human hosts and typically presents as cutaneous migratory myiasis, unlike this case.

This study aimed to explore the relationship between balance confidence/fall risk, as assessed by the Activities-Specific Balance Confidence Scale and the Falls Efficacy Scale-International, and long COVID-19 status in older adults.
Methods: This study assessed balance confidence and concern of falling in older adults (≥60 years) with long COVID-19 (long-haulers, n = 30) compared with older adults who experienced COVID-19 but not long COVID-19 (non-long-haulers, n = 60) and older adults (controls) who self-reported never having COVID-19 (n = 52).
The DUX4 transcription factor is briefly expressed in the early embryo and is epigenetically repressed in somatic tissues. Loss of epigenetic repression can result in the aberrant expression of DUX4 in skeletal muscle and can cause facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD). Multiple factors have been identified as necessary to maintain epigenetic silencing of in skeletal muscle, but whether specific sequences at the locus are sufficient for epigenetic silencing has been unknown.

First-principles calculations indicate negligible spin Hall conductivity in FeRh materials in the AFM phase due to time-reversal symmetry breaking. To date, the contribution of the Berry curvature to the spin Hall effect remains unexamined in the context of AHE measurements.
